Overview of active 5G base stations in the Republic of Serbia (Q2 2026)
As part of the ongoing development of public mobile electronic communications networks, mobile network operators in Serbia continue to develop 5G mobile networks, focusing on improving coverage and enhancing the user experience. As of the second quarter of 2026, there were a total of 4,764 active 5G base stations in the Republic of Serbia.
5G technology services can also be delivered via base stations that utilize DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing) functionality. This functionality enables the simultaneous provision of 4G and 5G services by sharing radio frequency resources. While this ensures 5G signal coverage, it does not provide the full performance capabilities of a 5G network, as capacity and speed are significantly limited.
In accordance with the statutory obligation to register radio stations, the Regulator maintains a Register of recorded radio stations in public mobile electronic communications networks. The Register is updated based on monthly data regarding active radio stations submitted by public mobile electronic communications network operators. It contains information on their location, radio frequency band and the technology employed.
Based on data from the Register of recorded radio stations as of the end of Q2 2026 (June 30, 2026), within the allocated radio frequency spectrum used exclusively for 5G technology, Telekom Srbija a.d. Belgrade had 1,276 active 5G base stations, A1 Srbija d.o.o. Belgrade had 1,076 active 5G base stations and Yettel d.o.o. had a total of 540 active 5G base stations. Additionally, Yettel d.o.o. had 1,872 active 5G base stations utilizing 4G/5G DSS functionality within a shared radio frequency spectrum. An overview of 5G network development in 2026 is presented in the charts below.
To ensure transparency and keep the public informed about 5G network development in the Republic of Serbia, the Regulator consistently publishes, among other data, updated information on the number of active 5G base stations by operator (https://www.ratel.rs/storage/upload/2026/10/Prikaz-mobilnih-mre%C5%BEa-operatora---Drugi-kvartal-2026.-godine.pdf), as well as a 5G coverage map (https://gis.ratel.rs/smartPortal/mobPokrivenost), all based on data from the Register of recorded radio stations.
