RATEL issues decision selecting the best bids in the public tender for the use of spectrum allocated for digital terrestrial television
Under its statutory authorization, the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) conducted a public tender on September 22, 2026, for the issuance of individual licenses to use radio frequency spectrum in the 470–694 MHz band accross the territory of the Republic of Serbia, with the participation of a single qualified bidder – "Emisiona tehnika i veze" LLC Belgrade, for digital terrestrial television services.
Following the public bidding process, at the 3rd session of the fifth convocation of the RATEL Council held on October 1, 2026, a decision was adopted selecting the best bids in the public tender procedure for the use of radio frequency spectrum in the 470–694 MHz band, designating the company "Emisiona tehnika i veze" LLC Belgrade as the most favorable bidder for all three digital terrestrial television multiplexes (MUX1, MUX2, and MUX5).
The selected bidder is required to pay the fees for the right to use the radio frequency spectrum, as determined during the public bidding process, as well as the prescribed fees for the issuance of individual licenses, following which RATEL will issue individual licenses for each assigned multiplex.
