Overview of active 5G base radio stations in the Republic of Serbia
The issuance of individual licenses for the use of the radio frequency spectrum, following a public tender procedure in December 2025, created the conditions for the commercial provision of services using 5G technology and the further development of public mobile electronic communications networks in the Republic of Serbia.
As part of the implementation of the 5G mobile network, mobile network operators in Serbia have put into operation 5G technology base radio stations enabling high data transfer speeds, faster network response and improved user experience. A total of 2,354 5G base radio stations (gNodeB) are active in the Republic of Serbia.
5G technology services can also be implemented with base radio stations that use DSS (Dynamic Spectrum Sharing) technology. The application of this technology enables the simultaneous provision of 4G and 5G services by sharing frequency resources, thus ensuring 5G signal coverage, however without full 5G network performance.
In accordance with the statutory obligation to log radio stations into an official record, the Regulator maintains a register of recorded radio stations in the public mobile electronic communications network. The Register is updated based on data on active radio stations submitted monthly by operators of public mobile electronic communications networks and contains information on the former’s location, radio frequency band and applied technology.
Based on data from the Register of Recorded Radio Stations as of 4 August 2026, Telekom Srbija a.d. Belgrade has 1,013 active 5G base radio stations, A1 Srbija d.o.o. Belgrade 807, while Yettel d.o.o. has 534 active 5G base radio stations and 1,771 base radio stations with applied 4G/5G DSS technology.
In order to ensure transparency and inform the public about the development of the 5G network in the Republic of Serbia, the Regulator will routinely publish updated information on the number of active 5G base radio stations by operator and a map of 5G signal coverage on its website, based on data from the Register of Recorded Radio Stations.
