Process to introduce "Roam Like Home" regime with the European Union begins
At its session held on 25 June 2026, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Decision on the establishment of a Negotiating Team to conduct negotiations with the European Commission for the inclusion of the Republic of Serbia in the EU "Roam Like Home" regime, thus creating the prerequisites for coordinated negotiations and harmonization of the national regulatory framework with the EU legislation in the field of roaming.
The Assistant Minister for Electronic Communications and Postal Traffic, Dr. Katarina Tomašević, has been appointed as the Chief Negotiator and Head of the Negotiating Team. In addition to representatives of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, the Negotiating Team also includes experts from the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services, the Ministry for European Integration and the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union.
The "Roam Like Home" regime with the European Union aims to enable citizens of the Republic of Serbia to use call, SMS and data services during occasional trips to European Union member states, as a rule, under the same conditions as at home, without paying additional roaming fees, while respecting the fair use policy.
Information on further activities related to the negotiations and the steps taken towards the establishment of the EU "Roam Like Home" regime will be published in a timely manner on the website of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.
