RIPE SEE 14 held in Belgrade – hosted by RATEL, RNIDS and SOX
The 14th Regional Meeting of the RIPE Community for South-Eastern Europe – RIPE SEE 14 was held on 21 and 22 April in Belgrade. The meeting brought together internet infrastructure experts, network operators, regulators, representatives of the academic community and other stakeholders from across the region.
This year’s meeting was hosted by the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services, the Serbian National Internet Domain Registry Foundation and Serbian Open eXchange. According to the data presented at the final plenary session, the meeting hosted 208 participants, 102 of whom were at their first RIPE SEE meeting.
After the official program, free RIPE NCC trainings dedicated to the basics of the IPv6 protocol and working with the RIPE database were held, which further strengthened the capacity of experts in our region to work in a modern internet environment.
RIPE SEE regional meetings have been organized since 2011 with the aim of bringing together the internet community of South-Eastern Europe and encouraging knowledge exchange, cooperation and development of internet infrastructure.
As part of the RIPE SEE conference, a special panel – a roundtable for representatives of governments and regulators from the region was held to encourage cooperation and better coordination between the public sector, regional regulatory bodies and the RIPE NCC.
Participation in the organization of this year's conference confirms the role played by Ratel in the regional and international internet community.
