Ratel hosts ERGP WG Regulatory Framework meeting
The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (Ratel) hosted the ERGP WG Regulatory Framework meeting, within the European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP), on 7 and 8 October 2025.
During the meeting, representatives of national regulatory authorities (NRAs) from Europe worked on the drafting of the ERGP WG Regulatory Framework Annual Report for 2025, which is dedicated to emergencies, resilience and security in the postal sector.
For the purpose of preparing the report, a data collection procedure was carried out through appropriate questionnaires, which were forwarded to NRAs across the European Union and countries in the process of accession to the EU. The collected data refer to the existing legal framework, definitions of basic postal services and critical postal infrastructure, system resilience and security strategies in the light of emergency plans, as well as the application of the appropriate management model (responsibilities, competences and cooperation among authorities). The report is expected to be adopted at the second ERGP plenary session, to be held in November 2025.
At the meeting, Ratel presented its experience in the protection from cyber attacks, with practical examples in the area of postal services, supported by the activities of the National CERT.
In a guided tour, the participants of the meeting were introduced to the history of the PTT Museum.
The European Regulators Group for Postal Services (ERGP) is an advisory body to the European Commission. Its main task is to help strengthen the single postal services market and ensure consistent application of relevant regulations, through the coordination of cooperation among postal NRAs.
