Ratel's participation in OSCE Cybersecurity Conference in Helsinki
A representative of Ratel, together with the delegation of the Republic of Serbia, took part in the annual OSCE Chairpersonship Conference on Cyber/ICT Security, held from 30 September to 2 October in Helsinki. The conference was organized by the Finnish Chairmanship, under the slogan "Resilient Together", with a focus on three key principles: Respect – Respond – Prepare.
The participation of the Serbian delegation, consisting of Dragoslav Stanižan, Head of the IT Division of Ratel, Aleksandar Maksimović of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Kristina Evgo of the OSCE Permanent Mission to Serbia, affirmed Serbia's active role in international involvement in the field of cybersecurity, as well as its commitment to improving regional collaboration and good practice exchange.
As part of the activities of the informal OSCE working group, established by Decision PC 1039, representatives of Serbia participated in discussions on the implementation of confidence-building measures (CBMs). Serbia makes a significant contribution to the implementation of CBM 9, which refers to national terminologies and definitions of terms in the field of information security. A publicly available website (cbm9.gov.rs) has been launched, containing a glossary of cyber/ICT security terms, collected from official documents of OSCE participating States and translated into the official languages of the OSCE.
At the conference the following key topics were discussed: responsible behavior of states in cyberspace, public-private partnerships, resilience to cyber threats and the impact of artificial intelligence and disruptive technologies on international security. Panelists from different countries and sectors presented specific challenges, national strategies, and innovative approaches in the area of cybersecurity.
The Serbian delegation was received by the Ambassador of Serbia to Finland, Aleksandar Janković, and the members of the delegation also visited the Nokia Executive Experience Center, where they were introduced to the latest achievements in the field of network technologies, digital infrastructure and cybersecurity. Nokia representatives presented the Finnish model of digital resilience, as well as examples of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector in the protection of critical infrastructure.
Ratel's participation in the Helsinki conference is an important step towards strengthening Serbia's international position in the field of cybersecurity, as well as confirmation of its strategic commitment to building a secure, resilient and transparent digital environment.
