Working Visit of AKOS

06.04.2023

Following a successful visit to the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS), rated as very useful, the colleagues of AKOS returned the visit to RATEL in order to continue the cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of postal services, electronic communications user protection and cyber security.

The AKOS delegation was greeted by Dragan Pejović, director of RATEL, who, in the presence of his associates,  highlighted the importance of this kind of collaboration and sharing of experience in the fields of electronic communications, postal and cybersecurity regulation.

As part of the working visit, three parallel sessions were held, dedicated to particular regulators’ areas of interest.

Within the postal regulation session, views on the following topics were exchanged: expert supervision of the work of postal operators, implementation of the EU Regulation on cross-border parcel delivery services and separate revenue and cost accounting for universal postal service provider. In addition, RATEL presented its activities intended for postal market competition enhancement (postal service price comparison tool, GIS portal for the display of postal operators’ network availability and express service QoS benchmark).

A session dedicated to user protection was marked by a fruitful exchange of experience and good practice regarding topics of mutual interest and significance for both regulators, including the implementation of regulation in this area. AKOS representatives were, on this occasion, acquainted with RATEL’s projects intended for the protection of users, namely RATEL NetТest, EMF RATEL, and a price comparison tool.

The third session was dedicated to the challenges in the area of cyber security, specifically the implementation of NIS2 Directive, issues of network integrity and network security regulation. The activities and the main projects of the National CERT, within RATEL, were presented as well.
