New RF Band Allocation Plan comes into force

Regulation on the establishment of the Plan of allocation of radio frequency bands, published in the Official Gazette of RS, No. 9/24 of February 5, 2024, entered into force on the eighth day of its publishing, i.e. February 13, 2024. On the day of coming into force of this regulation, the Regulation on the establishment of the Plan of allocation of radio frequency bands (Official Gazette of RS, No. 89/20) ceased to apply.

Pursuant to Article 100, paragraph 5 of the Law on Electronic Communications (Official Gazette of RS, No. 35/23), at the sitting of the Government of the Republic of Serbia of January 25, 2024, based on the draft document prepared by RATEL and submitted by the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, with participation of the competent autonomous province body, the Regulation on the establishment of the Plan of allocation of radio frequency bands was adopted.

The Plan of allocation of radio frequency bands establishes the RF band allocation for certain radio communications services, in accordance with international radio communications regulations, corresponding international agreements, arrangements, international legal documents and recommendations, and relevant EU acts.

With the adoption of the Plan of allocation of radio frequency bands, the legal conditions are met for the amendment of the existing and the adoption of new rulebooks in the area of radio communications.
