96 EMF sensors in 39 Serbian cities

15.07.2022

As part of socially responsible project “System for continuous monitoring of electromagnetic field levels – EMF RATEL” in the Republic of Serbia, having been implemented and developed by RATEL since 2017, the existing sensor network has been expanded by another 8 new measuring devices, making in total 96 sensors operating in 39 Serbian cities.

Thanks to the cooperation with local administrations and institutions that have so far participated in the realization of this project, RATEL has successfully accomplished the planned network expansion. Further expansion of the system is foreseen throughout 2022, with new sensors to be installed in new cities and institutions.

As a reminder, EMF RATEL uses a network of sensors performing continuous and long-term monitoring of electromagnetic field levels generated by electronic communications networks and equipment.

Through this project, the results of electromagnetic field measurements have been made publicly available to the citizens as part of an effort to inform and educate the public and promote a further development of communication networks in Serbia.

The municipalities all across the country have recognized the importance of electromagnetic field levels monitoring, by allowing RATEL to install sensors on facilities with an increased sensitivity to electromagnetic radiation, such as schools, hospitals and kindergartens, thus attesting to the shared social responsibility to protect the environment and citizens’ health.

The data pertaining to electromagnetic field levels can be found at the interactive Internet portal address: https://emf.ratel.rs/eng/index, where locations with installed sensors can be viewed, along with the corresponding values of measured electromagnetic field levels.
