BELGRADE, November 21 and 22 – The 41st Symposium on Novel Technologies in Postal and Telecommunications Traffic, PosTel 2023, was held at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering in Belgrade. In an opening speech, Katarina Tomašević, Assistant Minister for Electronic Communications and Postal Traffic at the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, highlighted key topics of the postal services strategic development: advancement of postal regulation, creation of legal framework for digitization of processes enabling the application of new technologies, simplification of procedures required for setting up postal service activities, as well as enhancement of postal users’ protection.

Director of the Postal Services Department of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) Ljubomir Ostojić said in his introductory speech that changes of national postal legal framework, enhancement of competition in the postal market and elaboration of an UPS sustainability study are a strategic priority for the postal industry in the following period.

This year, PosTel papers were divided into several program sections: Telecommunication Traffic, Networks and Services, Process Management in Postal and Telecommunication Traffic, and Postal Traffic, Networks and Services. RATEL representatives presented a paper entitled „Models for Improvement of Competition in the Postal Market“, authored by: Dragan Pejović, Ljubomir Ostojić, Sonja Gezović and Mila Milošević.

Over the 41 years of existence, PosTel has built a reputation and reached a leading position in the areas of research and scientific expertise, gathering an impressionable number of prominent names from the domain of postal and telecommunication services. At the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering, various scientific and research papers from the areas of postal traffic and telecommunications were presented, along with numerous scientific and expert activities and fora, including presentations of companies and project solutions.
