RATEL with FIC representatives

Traditional meeting between repesentatives of RATEL and of Foreign Inverstors Council (FIC) was organized around the topic „Activity plan of Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services for 2019.“

The nine priority objectives within RATEL’s activities in 2019 were presented at the meeting. The majority of work is expected to be done in the area of regulatory frame improvement, user protection in electronic communications, postal services, as well as in the area of the ICT risk coordination and prevention system development. RATEL has committed to work on fostering and encouraging competition in the telecommunications market, enhancing the position of RATEL both on national and international levels and furthering regional cooperation.

„We are currently preparing the study Selection of an optimum spectrum auction model for 5G technology and regulations for 5G technology implementation, incuding further construction of the System for RF spectrum monitoring, in the aim of establishing permanent monitoring over usage of RF spectrum in the largest part of the territory of the Republic of Serbia and in its immediate surrounding“, said Dr Vladica Tintor, director of RATEL, adding that the Agency will continue to assert its socially responsible mission in its business activities, such as measurement of electromagnetic field levels, mobile network benchmarking and setting up of a Portal for comparative retail prices of electronic communications services.

The meeting beetwen RATEL and FIC was in addition attended by representatives of Telenor, Vip Mobile, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, CRISC and law offices from Belgrade. The Telecommunications Committee of FIC gathers 30 members, including the mobile operators conducting their business activities in Serbia.
