National Assembly Committee adopted RATEL’s Activity Report

At its 36th sitting held on December 3, 2018, the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia assessed the Report on Activities of the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL) for 2017.

The Activity Report was presented by dr Vladica Tintor, director of RATEL, who pointed out that in 2017 the total income in the electronic communications market was 191.2 billion dinars and in the postal services market around 18 billion dinars. Like previous years, the largest income share pertains to mobile telephony and makes up 58.5% of the revenues.

During 2017, RATEL carried out numerous activities aiming to improve conditions for business activities of telecommunications and postal operators, foster market competition, improve quality of service, protect end-users and promote information security in the Republic of Serbia.

Following the discussion, the Committe examined RATEL’s Activity Report for 2017 and made a Draft conclusion on adoption of the document, submitted to further consideration and adoption by the National Assembly.
